Category Metrics: Bar Graphs / Pie Graphs

Tracking data by category is a good way to compare portions per certain groups. In this module we show you how to create pie and bar graphs using Find Metrics

Examples of metrics by category include:

  • Headcount by Location: This is an at-a-glance way to see where your employees are located in a distributed workforce.
    • Note that you have the option to change your display from a pie chart to a bar graph by clicking on the options in the upper right corner of your metric.
  • Departures by Termination Reason: This answers the question of how many employees are leaving and for what reasons. Analyzing this data can help guide initiatives to prevent employees from leaving your organization.
    • Clicking on "Add Comparison" allows you to add additional data to your metric and see, for example, how you are tracking now compared to previous years.
    • Once you have added in your comparison, be sure to click "View Metric" again to update your metric.
  • Turnover by Tenure Group: This metric can help you pinpoint where in the employment journey you are losing employees.  Many organizations use this metric to evaluate the quality of their hires.

  • Departures by Termination Reason by Tenure Group: This metric helps to dive into specifics of certain tenure groups that have a higher turnover rate. This is particularly valuable when evaluating the quality of hire for departures with less than one year of tenure.
    • This metric is filtered to show data for departures with less than one year of tenure.
